We are all moved in, and finally have the internet again. We have the release form from our old landloards, so we don't have to deal with them anymore!! YAY!!. we still have a lot of unpacking to do, but once that is done, it's back to projects!

Well, it finally happened! We finally have the keys to our house!!! We signed papers 8-26-13, and started cleaning the next night. The plumbers fixed the bathrooms and the kitchen, and the electrician should be there on Tuesday to fix the lights upstairs.
We finally got our inspection done, and our bank is allowing us to escrow the costs of the repair items they wanted. The Va finaly got their titel issues sorted out, so now all that needs done is the abstracting and all the paperwork for the loan, and we will know if we are getting the house. Hopefully we will close by August 16th, so we can move b the Ren Faire.
The progress was not as good as we though. The boiler had leaking issues, so we did not get our inspection. Our next try will be tomorrow, since the VA fixed the leak. They will not fix the other part that the boiler needs, or the 3 minor repairs that our bank wants done, so we are going to escrow the repair costs to get it done. We will be having contractors out to get estimates tomorrow. I am hoping that we will know for certain by the end of the month if we are getting the house.
We are finally having our inspection on Tuesday. The water was turned on Thursday, and the gas was turned on yesterday. We are very excited that things are finally being done. So hopefully in the next couple of weeks, we will know if we are buying a house.
Several things on my mind. First, still nothing on the house....still waiting for utilities to be turned on. Second, looking at my stats for this website amuses me. Several days with very few or no visitors, and then BAM..15-20 visitors in one day. Those days make me happy, and I supposed if I actually wrote more, I would get more views. But for some reason, the Muse has left me alone a lot lately, as evidence of the weekly tip and Spell sections having not been updated in a while. Sigh. Third......holy crap I only have 2 months left til the ren fair!! Procrastination is my bedfellow, and I need to kick it to the curb. I haven't even decided what I want to wear yet, and still have crystals and moms outfits to make too. So tomorrow, i am going to try to kick my own ass into gear. Fourth...I am so freaking tired it's not even funny. I have not been able to sleep a whole night through since this house stuff began, and I really would like too for once. which is were I am off too now, so have a good night/day t
Most people would say i'm a patient person, and most of the time I am. But right now I feel like breaking something be cause everything is taking so long. The VA still has not replied back with weither the utilies are turned on or not. We can't have the inspection or the accessment to make sure we can have the house until they are on. They want to sell the house, but they have to be poked and prodded every step of the way to get anything done, and I feel like I am reaching my limit. So we are going swimming this weekend so I can just get away and quit thinking about the house.
So I signed papers for the loan appilcation today. We have our inspection on Monday morning, then the accessor will be out later in the next couple of weeks to see if the house has any problems that would cause the lender to deny the loan. So we will get some info next week, and hopefully hear good things about the accessment by the end of the month! Keep your fingers crossed for us, and I will keep you updated.
Well, the seller refused our first offer, without a counter offer. So our realtor had a contractor she knows well go through the house, and he said it should be able to pass inspection, so we can put in a different offer. If it gets turned down again, then we will try and gt the first house we looked at on Saturday.
Well, we ended up looking a 4 houses yesterday. The first one and the fourth one were the 2 i liked the best, and we are going to see if we can get the fourth one as our house. It is a 4 bed, 1 and 3/4 bath, over 2,000 sq feet, and a finished attic. The basement needs a lot of work to reseal, but it is listed at $69,900. it has a huge yard, and wonderful wood work all through out the house. We would need to do some renovations, not only in the basement, but also the kitchen and in the bathrooms and a bedroom. But it is definately useable and livable while we work on it. So we will go to the bank tomorrow and see want we can do.
