So I received my replacement printer today and got it all hooked up, but the box didn't come with the return mailing sticker it was supposed to, so i called tech support again, and they are going to email it to me so i can print it out and send back the old printer. With today being my day off, I am going to work on getting the house picked up and organized a bit, hopefully going through some more boxes and cleaning off my desk, and then sitting down with Mom and Dale to figure out our budget for the next few months so we can start setting aside more money for the down payment.

Well, I called tech support today, and confirmed that I already tried to use the steps online to reset my printer, which did not work sadly, so the rep walked me through another 30 minutes of trying to get the error message off my new printer. Sadly, it didn't work. So I will be getting a replacement printer tomorrow or the next days, since I only bought it Sunday, free of charge. And I will definitely make sure I am more careful when I load the paper. I love Kodak, but I really miss the days when printing was
Well, I've had my printer all of 2 days, and now it thinks it has a paper jam. Went through all the directions online, took out all the paper, and it still thinks it is jammed. Will call support tomorrow. Got to love technology....
So me and Crystal are getting the plans of our Halloween party finalized. We are thinking that we will have the party on Friday 27, seeing as this is a night when we are both suppose to have that day off. We tried to have the party last year, but not very many people were able to show up, but we had fun anyways. This year since we are in the new house, we are hoping to get more people to come.
Well, I finally broke down and bought a printer of my own. Mom has been using hers for her work with the VFW, and I didn't want to use up all the ink that she has bought, so I got my own. Now I can print off pictures from the Ren Faire, as well as D&D stuff, and more of the free books I found on www.scribd.com which is one of my absolute favorite websites ever. Since I usually only print in black and white, I was able to get the extra large pack of black ink and I saved $15! Of course, I had to buy the more expensive brand of printer, but with it being a 3-in-1 printer, scanner, and copier, I shouldn't have to buy another one for a long long time. So all in all, with the 3 big purchases at Wal-Mart in the past 2 days, I have gotten the main things I needed without going over budget.
You just have to love how plans change. I was supposed to go with a friend to look at fabric for a costume for her daughter today, but we both had things come up to keep that from happening. Sigh, I suppose such is live though. I am trying to decide what to charge people for hemming and alterations requests that I keep getting at work, hehehe. I love to make clothes, but I worry about cheating people out of their hard earned money, while at the same I know I deserve to be paid for my time and effort.
I love creating clothes. I have a few costumes lined up already for Halloween, one being a Sully (from Monster's Inc) costume for a friend's 1 year old. We will be going to the store this weekend, to check out the price of fabric, etc. I can't wait!
Ok, I will admit it. I am a major geek. I love to learn, and I love to do things that most people would not consider mainstream. And one of those things is wanting to buy a hobby farm. I want a nice piece of land, not to far away from Newton and my family, where we can build a house for me and Dale, one for Mom, and one for Crystal too. Where we can raise some animals and grow food, as well as make stuff to sell. The houses we want to build would be considered Earthships, which are very awesome! Built using rammed earth inside used automobile tires, as well as cans and bottles for non-load bearing walls, these types of homes are very Eco-friendly and self-sustaining. When used with solar and wind energy, and the reuse of water and containment of waste, these homes provide for all our needs, without a monthly bill, other then the mortgage, lol. I was researching house building about 4 years ago when I came across this particular way of building, and have been in love with the idea ever since. The fact that it is Eco-friendly, cost effective to build, and self sustaining had me hooked from the start.
The difficulty lies in finding the right kind of land that fits all our wants, as well as our needs. We need land large enough to build 3 houses on it, with a large south facing hill to build into, and would like enough land to have some wooded area for us to play paintball, and clear areas to grow food and other plants. Our hopes and dreams are big, Good morning everyone! Well, the plans for today are to clean up the house a little bit, including the litter boxes. Familars are wonderful, but I wish they could at least clean out their own litter boxes, lol. After that, I'm going to work on the hemming job I have from work, and my cousin Rachel's outfit for the Ren Faire next year. Then I will be sitting down to figure out what to do for Mabon this Saturday.
So just wanted to give a heads up on the new things that will be added soon to the website. I will be posting an article (With Pictures!) about how I made Dale's costume. I am also going to be making costumes for some people at work, as well as other sewing jobs, and we are going to be having a Halloween party sometime near the end of next month. There will be pictures, and I am thinking about creating a Youtube account just for the site. Since I have done a lot of reading, but not so much hands on experimenting with survival ideas, I will be trying them out, and creating videos of what I do. As soon as I figure out how to edit videos I will get the account
