So, I have found a new source of ads for the site, so here's crossing my fingers that it brings in some revenue. I'll try to keep them contained to a footer at the bottom or a header at the top of the pages. Also thinking about possibly opening a Patreon account, so I'll see what the process is for that later. Have a blessed day!

Greetings once again my good readers. My how time flies when life sucker punches you. Life changes swiftly, but always moves forward. The site has had little growth, for which I apologize, but I am still here, and will have more posts. I know I have said many times before, but I am truly trying to get more content on the site, and I don't want anyone to feel as though I have forgotten it. Please feel free to leave me comments, messages, and questions, and I will answer as quickly as possible. I have created a new site for most of my sewing projects, and things that Dale and I are making to try to sell so head on over there as well, I have a link under the Links page. I am currently in the middle of applying for affiliate positions for marketing, so ads will hopefully be returning to the site. I know how annoying ads can be, so I will try to be as reasonable as possible with what is posted, but honestly, every little bit helps to make ends meet. If I am able to post ads, then I will be posting more info more quickly, which is good all around. And making ends meet, whither it is with ads or by prepping, is what survival is all about. Blessed be my friends, and thank you once again for taking the time to peruse this site!
I hope everyone has had happy holidays this year, and everyone is in good health! May all of you be blessed in the year to come, safe and warm during this winter time, and all full of good cheer. Thank you for stopping by my website, and bearing with me as the updates have been very irregular and sparse this year. I have had many health issues recently, but am now on the mend. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions, and even though it may take me some time to reply, I will do my best! Blessed be!
Hello again lovelies. It has been awhile, despite my previous post to try and post more often. Between work and family, I never seem to have the gumption to post. But I do appreciate those that come to look at my site, so a very hearty
Hello again all, it is now 2014, and I have been slacking. For some reason, I can't get very motivated to get on everyday. I hope to do better, since I will now have Dale's old gaming rig, and it should work faster. I am working on the ren fair costumes for this year already, so hopefully, no last minute panics. I have the start of mom's almost done, and hope to have ti 1/2 completed by the end of the week. I am working with corset boning for the first time, so wish me luck. I will ask Dale to upload some of last year's picture up to the site so that they can finally be seen.
We have a pretty full schedule lately, what with D&D every other Sunday, and trying to get the house cleaned and organized from winter and the move. Plus I want to build a couple of retaining wall planters in the front yard and plant our berry bushes. Well, i am going to finish hooking up the new computer and get ready for bed. I love watching my stats for this website, and after yesterday, I have to giggle. The line is like a roller coaster, small spikes and smooth runs, and then BOOM! a huge spike!. But that is ok. not having something to post everyday keeps the site from growing and being as popular as I think I want it to be. While having lots of people read my site would be awesome, being committed to it will take practise, and I have to start working on it more. Maybe it is time to write a new list. Get priorities in order, etc. which kinda gives me an idea for the site. Lists of things needed. I will think on it, since there are lots of good lists already out there.
I really do need to update more often, lol. I got 16 views i none hour last night, come back today, and I have 32 views. that is very encouraging. Today was a good day all around. Me, Mom, and Dale all went up to Des Moines to go fabric shoppiing for Mom's Ren fair costume next year. We found some very pretty polyester brocade in blue and silver, and the matching pattern in white and silver, as well as a sturdy cotton to make the hoop skirt and corest out of. We also got a new Brother sewing machine as well, for a very good discount with all the sales they had going on at Hancock's Fabrics. Once i have the mock up done and fitted to Mom, I will be able to get started and have everything waiting for her for September. I'm hopping to get everything done early this year, so i have some breathing room between costumes and gettng to enjoy them.
So tonight and tomorrow I will be trying to get the sewing room done being organized and things put away, and then I can start serious work on the costumes. We got the last of the black faux snake leather that Hobby Lobby had, so I can redo Dale's belt, and then his costume will be as complete as can be. Once his outfit is done, and Mom's, I can start thinking about what I want to do. I am also working on designs for a trench coat for Dale, and a Steampunk coat/outfit for his sister Crystal. I am also teaching my cousin Jill how to sew Ren/fantasty clothing for herself. I am so glad we got the new machine, since it will see a lot of use in the next few months. Well, there is a a new link to be found in the websites section. I helped my cousin Jill set up a website here on Weebly for her jewelery and her doll clothes that she makes for sale. Check out jillsprettythings.weebly.com for the new and exciting items she will posting. If you want to buy somethin, simply use the contact form to order, and she will email you with details on how to pay!
Well, we are all moved and settled into our new house, and almost all unpacked. Soon we will be able to start getting projects lined up for our winter amusement and betterrment. Nice option we found, funny enough, is Sam's Club. Now I know, stocking up is very importnat, but the best part about Sam's club in my option is the perks a premium membership gives us at the Pharmacy. On avergare, we spend about $140 every 2 weeks for Dale's medicine, and with the membership, we will only be spending about $48. Which means we will be saving $232 a month. Now, the premium membership does cost $100 a year, which is $8.34 a month. Even with all that, we are still ahead $224 per month, and $2688 PER YEAR! Now, just thinking of all the preperation we can do with that kind of change....
*Extra payments on our house/car to pay them off early, which are our only debts *Savings in case of losing our jobs *Fixing a leaky roof, the basement wall, and the gutters *Stocking up on supplies and tools So while we will be using the perks of Sam's Club to help stock up on items we can get cheaper in bulk, knowing that my husband can have the medicine he needs, when he needs it, gives me a greater peace of mind then anyone can imagine. |
